You might say that necessity was the mother of Vietti. The Vietti family moved here from Italy armed with little more than a grandmother's spaghetti recipe. The spaghetti sauce made its way to debut at the Chicago Worlds Fair, and sometime later it made a transformation. It was during a chili supper at the Vietti home in Nashville. The chili was running low, and digging around in the cupboard, they extended it with some of the spaghetti sauce. A unique flavor blend that defined Vietti chili began to emerge and soon would take hold of Nashville as part of its truly distinctive heritage. Since 1898, the flavor of Music City is a family tradition.
